CANSail II is a basic level for sailors who have completed CANSail I. The focus of this level is for sailors to learn how to adapt their body positions in the boat to changing wind speed and wave conditions on the water. Intermediate Sailing Level 3 & 4

Intermediate Sailing Level

$655/2 Weeks or $590 if the session contains a short week (listed below)

CANSail III is about fundamental skill consolidation with it's focus on strengthening directional wind and wind speed changes, sail tactics, and mark roundings. All while being exposed to a greater diversity of conditions. In this level, the science of sailing is introduced with CE, CLR, and vectors. Learning these skills, which will then be applied on the water and fine tuned, is critical to a sailor's advancement in the levels.  Here their strategies are tested by trial and error with a taste of racing in a club race night or inter-club setting. Maturity and strength is important at this level. We encourage these students take notes, which they will be expected to reflect on for the rest of their sailing career. Skills required to pass.

CANSail IV focuses on advanced boat handling maneuvers in a variety of conditions. Sailors will competitively race in local regattas ranging from 1 to 2 day settings (weekends). Here the sailors are looking to execute all of the skills acquired in the last 3 levels in a competitive setting. Here is where it is important for families to look at investing a few weekends during the summer for travel to regattas. CanSail IV is also the minimum required to teach CanSail programs as a coach. Skills required to pass.

Before and After Care is also available for a small fee. Please see Extend-A-Care for more information.
